It has been a very long time since we last spoke, and I find myself thinking of you often. I wonder how everything is going for you, and hope that things with Nora are going smoothly.
I miss you, Victor. Your lab was always a haven of peace and quiet.
I would love to get away for a week or so to visit Gotham, but it’s just not practical at the moment. I’m in the process of moving in with my partner, who is expecting our first child. I’m sorry I couldn’t include any ultrasound pictures; they don’t seem to have the necessary technology here. If it’s a boy, we’ve decided on Victor Tyrael Deitrich-Chatham. We can’t seem to agree on a Girl’s name. Either way, our baby will grow up being called ‘Cherub’ by most people.
I have a new job and the prospect of a better one soon.
How are things going with you? Have you been travelling? Are you working on any research? Did you ever give any more thought to your own cure?

Victor reads the note with a small smile, it had been a long time since he had spoken to any of his friends, especially Random. He takes the note and brings it inside, gathering a pen, paper, and envelope.
After several moments of thought and consideration, he begins writing.
Miss Random,
It is good to hear from you, as it has been a regrettably long time. I am glad to learn that you are well, and I assure you that both Nora and I are also getting along fine.
We both want to congratulate you on your first child… and I am honored that you have chosen Victor as the child’s name, should he be a boy. We wish you the best on your journey as parents— it will be a long and hard one, but we are sure that a child will thrive in such a loving family as yours, and we hope that you will send us pictures along the way.
It is good to know that you have security in your career, and I hope that the better job comes through for you.
Things here have been quiet. Nora is the only company I have had as of late, and she comes and goes as she pleases. I have not been working on research, instead my hours are dedicated to spending time with Nora… it has been so long since we have been together, it is almost as though I am starting life anew with her.
I have considered working on a cure for myself, but I find that the idea would be in vain… and I would much rather spend the time I have with my beloved.
It has been wonderful hearing from you as well, I had wondered where you had gotten to and am glad to hear that all is well with you.

((Natural, a word that doesn’t particularly sit well with him. It mostly reminds him of Ivy— someone he’s had a roller coaster history with. She’s the goddess of natural, and often wanders aroundau natural, which tends to put him in uncomfortable situations.
But it makes him uncomfortable in more than one way— she’s his number one enemy in a sense… always trying to attract his attention away from his wife and get his eyes to stay on her. He finds it hard to fight sometimes, but he constantly reminds himself that Nora’s the only one for him…

((Morality is something that Victor struggles with almost every day. He was brought up with very strict rules of what was right and wrong, but didn’t always agree with the defining lines.
As a criminal, he often kills people to further his research. He seems to be able to murder without remorse— but that’s not really the case.
He sits and wonders who that person might have been had they lived longer… who their family was, how it would affect them. He constantly reminds himself over and over that these were people’s children, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers… husbands… wives.
…He’s taking away other people’s Nora’s.
…But it’s all for a worthwhile cause, so that means it’s okay… right?))

White? An unfortunate fate to befall, I am sure.
But I had nothing to do with his misfortune— or perhaps I should call it karma. I am aware of what he has done, so I feel no particular remorse for his situation.

((Victor has never believed himself to be insane. He convinces himself that he’s sent to Arkham only because it’s the only place that has a cell for him. Unlike many of the other rogues, he does not revel in being sent to an asylum rather than a prison; he finds it quite insulting.
He keeps his countenance cold and calculating to distance himself from the people around him; he doesn’t want to associate with the inmates who really belong there. [Because of course, he’s above them]
That being said, if someone says something bad about Nora, or hits another sore topic, there are always dire consequences that follow. It is very rare when someone can rile Victor up, but when they do, it’s very often a sudden and deadly lash of reciprocation from him. And then he returns to normal as though nothing has happened.
He just doesn’t understand why they insist on keeping him in Arkham.))

((Victor did once have a small window of opportunity to kill Boyle, but when he held the gun in his hand, he found he just couldn’t do it. A very small part of him restrained from exacting revenge.
Though he’s never told anyone this, the last few shreds of humanity and sympathy he has left, he holds onto tightly. He’s almost convinced himself that it’s Nora herself guiding him along and keeping him safe in her physical absence.))

She beams, “Fantastic! I think we’ve gotten far enough past what happened to try and move past it. And… I can’t imagine my wedding without you…”
She pauses, frowning briefly..
“Well… It will be snowing there.. I’m not sure if it will be cold enough for you to be outside your suit… The suit isn’t exactly made to fit over your…. suit… So… I dunno..”
*he gives her a small smile* Well I will try to figure something out. One way or another, I will be there. Perhaps I will try to make an appearance without my suit and put it on if it is needed. With any luck the air will be cool enough to sustain my temperature for long enough.
